Combine art and nature, escape from the hustling and bustling of Oslo
- Book a full day excursion to the idyllic village of Hvitsten where Edvard Munch, the painter of “Scream”, lived and worked a great part of his life. Here he found peace and inspiration for the wall paintings that decorate the main hall of the Oslo University still today.
- Walk on woodland paths and village roads without cars and traffic noise and experience the incredible story of Kristiania’s (the old name of Oslo) intellectual elite or the bohemian art colony in Hvitsten.
- Edward Munch’s house and studio in Hvitsten will open in 2021/2022 as a museum, possible to visit. Entrance tickets for the museum can be purchased on the spot.
- Enjoy your lunch at the nearby restaurant which serves tasty organic foods locally produced or you may prefer to lunch at the nearby fishing village Drøbak where I happen to live and I know every corner of this beautiful place. This is only 6 miles by car from Hvitsten on our way back to Oslo.
- As our tour starts and ends in Oslo, I can guide you to any place of your choice if you would like to see more of Oslo.
