Fenaknoken is a cosy corner, with a view to Akershus Castle, right next to the harbour and the “Fiskehallen” fish market. Its central location makes it a good spot not only for the locals but the tourists that find themselves in the centre of town, to visit on foot, without needing and transportation.
Fenaknoken is for the people that are looking for a different tasting experience .
In Fenaknoken one can enjoy Norwegian flavours from all over the country. You can combine them with Norwegian beer, wine, or Aquavit, the “spirit” of Norway, our national drink. Aquavit is the distillate of potato, flavoured with anis. “Aquavit” means water of life. It contains 42-45%ABV alcohol.
Fenaknoken offers a wide range of cured and smoked fish, meats and cheeses. You can either order a la carte or you can have buffet. The food is server with “flatbrød” (a rye based toast), one more Norwegian taste. Another typical flavour of Norway is the sour cream.
Eirik, the proprietor, and all the staff are always happy to help you. Eirik has a deep knowledge of the processes of the products he offers in his establishment. He has a funny way of describing the process of the first stage to the last, i.e. your plate.
