This tour is the perfect way to see the main highlights of Oslo and visit one of its top 10 attractions, the Vigeland Park. You will also learn about Norwegian history from the time the city was founded in the year 1000 to our present day.
We start with the impressive and monumental buildings in Karl Johan street: the neoclassical Royal Palace and the University, the Baroque National Theatre and the Roman style Parliament House, then continue to the City Hall, the venue of the Nobel Peace Prize, lavishly decorated with Norwegian art. We continue past the imposing Renaissance Akershus Fortress facing the trendy Aker Wharf and the waterfront, continue to the amazing Opera House, a landmark with an exterior looking more like a glacier than an opera and ballet stage. A tram ride will take us to one of Norway’s top ten tourist attractions, the Vigeland Park. You have the privilege of being guided by the author of the book about this park, and an illustrated copy signed by the author is included in the tour.
Return to the city center by public transport and spend the rest of your afternoon and evening exploring more of Oslo at your own pace.
