If you have limited time in Oslo, this tour is the perfect way to explore “the must-see” of the city and learn about Norwegian history from the time the city was founded in the year 1000 to our present day.
It can also be a nice introduction to continue exploring the city afterwards on your own.
We start with the impressive and monumental buildings in Karl Johan street: the neoclassical Royal Palace and the University, the Baroque National Theatre and the Roman style Parliament House. We walk past the City Hall, the venue of the Nobel Peace Prize, and the renaissance quarter of Kristiania from 1600s. We continue to the imposing Renaissance Fortress Akershus which faces the trendy Aker Wharf. Our tour ends at the amazing Opera House, a landmark with an exterior looking more like a glacier than an opera and ballet stage.
Spend the rest of your afternoon and evening exploring more of Oslo at your own pace.
